Drinking water on-site mandatory for construction

BACK TO YOU: DON HURST

Much of our construction season spans the hottest months of the year, affecting the conditions in which we work. On-site workers need to stay hydrated. By regulation, employers must ensure there is an adequate supply of potable drinking water available.

We understand there may be situations where the plumbed or running water on-site is non-potable. Some solutions to this include using insulated water jugs on-site or in-shop, so workers can fill their own personal water bottles.

Please be sure each water station has disinfectant wipes handy to sanitize the water jugs. Remember that water jugs must be labeled ‘DRINKING WATER’ and absolutely no one is allowed to drink directly from the water source.
