Questions regarding isolation

As Winnipeg and the surrounding areas further COVID-19 restrictions, we at MHCAWORKSAFELY™ have been fielding a wide variety of questions. An important question we have received often is: “What if you test positive for COVID-19 or are in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19?”

To answer that question, Manitoba Public Health has stated the following:

  • Individuals identified as having COVID-19 or as a close contact of someone with COVID-19 must immediately self-isolate (quarantine) until public health officials advise they can end their quarantine.
  • Household members or close contacts of a person or persons with COVID-19 must immediately go into self-isolation for 14 days from the last date of exposure and call Health Links-Info Santé (204-788-8200 or 1-888-315-9257) if they develop symptoms.
