Exciting Changes Ahead: New Harmonized COR®/SECOR® Audit Tool Timeline and Plan

Staying in Touch: Jacquelyn Oduro

WORKSAFELY® announces the rollout of the revamped Harmonized COR®/SECOR® Audit Tool, as part of our strategy to continually improve its services.

Here’s what you need to know:

External Audits: Your auditor will delve into new element 14, offering insightful recommendations for your action plan. Not to worry — the scores in this new element won’t affect your overall 2024 audit score. It’s a valuable opportunity to familiarize yourself with the enhancements.

Internal Audits: Dive in anytime! Companies now have the flexibility to adopt the new audit tool at their convenience.

Culture Assessment: Effective immediately, all companies must submit the new culture assessment as part of both internal and external audits. It’s a crucial component, to be submitted alongside your corrective action plans.

Mandatory Date: As of January 1, 2025, the new tool becomes mandatory. It’s wise to begin the transition now, as submissions using the old tool won’t be accepted.

2025 Further Update: Supporting documentation will no longer be mandatory for Internal Auditor-completed audits (valid IA #), but detailed comments explaining point allocations are a must. Our commitment to transparency allows MHCA to request documentation if needed during our quality assurance review of the internal audits submitted.
